
Lee Knight Jr.
His poetry blends strong mental imagery ,
social-political significance and a healthy dose of reality wrapped in beautifully vivid descriptions
saturating every sentence. His work is both reflectiveand inspiring as he intricately combines his ownexperiences with informative insights about theworld we live in. For the last ten years Lee has beenperforming his poetry from Europe to the United States.He was a member of team San Jose 2003 as well as a team member and coach of team Palo Alto 2004 and 2005. As the slam master and
creator of Palo Alto Slam, Lee lends his ear to up-and-coming poets, nurturing
their creativity and cultivating new talent and has conducted several workshops with high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lee's work and performances have beenfeatured in several anthologies including Modesto's "Survival of the Illist" DVD. In 2005 he was the winner of the Bay Area's "King of the Mic" competition held in
Sacramento, CA and later represented Palo Alto in the individual world poetry slam
held in Charlotte, NC In 2006 he took 4th place individually at the national poetry slam and in
2009 he catapulted Team Berkeley to #1 in the team piece championship
